Caged Ground Feeder - with Feedguard™

This caged ground feeder is the ideal choice for attracting ground feeding birds.    Some birds may not be able to get inside of the cage but will be able to peck the food with their beaks. 

The metal mesh tray lets water drain and prevents the seed from becoming waterlogged, and the cage offers a deterrant against predators such as Squrrels and Larger birds. The cage has feet to raise it up above the ground again to reduce the chance of the seed becoming wet and clogged.  This great value ground feeder now features Feedguard™, an antibacterial coating powered by Biomaster antimicrobial technology, which inhibits the growth of bacteria by up to 99.99%**.  

The lid opens fully for easy access, meaning cleaning and filling is a simple task.  The clasp will lock the lid shut.  It's important to ensure that the feeder is cleaned out regularly and any old seed cleared out.

*A Note On Juvenile Squirrels and birds

This ground feeder is designed to deter adult grey squirrels and larger birds, although some birds may still reach the food with their beaks. Juvenile squirrels are smaller, more flexible and agile, meaning they may squeeze through the bars. Young jackdaws, crows and pigeons may also gain access. Squirrels are typically born in March, April, July and August, so juvenile activity may increase during these months. The bar gaps cannot be made smaller, as this could pose a risk to birds.

If squirrels manage to access the feeder, try adding a small amount of chilli flakes to the nuts or seeds. Chilli does not affect birds but can help deter squirrels.
