Dried Mealworms

Insect-eating birds love to take mealworms from your feeder. Many birds will be drawn in by dried mealworms and may become regular visitors to your garden.

For birds already visiting you, mealworms can simply be added to your regular feeding station, but to acclimatise other birds to visiting for them, we recommend siting a second feeder near where you’ve seen them perch. This gives them a chance to get used to taking their insects from you.

Please provide a source of water if feeding dried mealworms to ensure garden birds stay hydrated, alternatively soak the dried mealworms overnight and then feed to the birds.

It is important to note, when feeding Hedgehogs, Mealworms can be a tasty treat for our spikey friends, but shouldn't be fed to them too often as they can be addictive. If fed too often, Hedgehogs may lose interest in healthier foods and won't gain the nutritional value required to stay healthy. It is best for Hedgehogs to eat Mealworms in moderation and should not consume more than four in one week. Calci Worms are rich in calcium, protein and essential fats, making them an excellent alternative when feeding Hedgehogs.
