Dried Mealworms for Birds
The perfect year-round feed for garden birds, Dried Mealworms are high in protein and calories.
This makes them especially popular during breeding season and the colder months. With natural insect levels declining, your support can help make a real difference. You'll find a wide range of birds enjoying your Dried Mealworms, particularly Robins, Blackbirds and Tits.
Read moreAbout Our Dried Mealworms for Birds
Insect-eating birds love to take mealworms from your feeder. Many birds will be drawn in by dried mealworms and may become regular visitors to your garden.
Why Dried Mealworms?
Insect levels have declined by some 60% in the last 20 years. Feeding birds natural foods such as Dried Mealworms is an excellent way to help support them and compensate for this decline.
How To Feed Dried Mealworms
Feeding Dried Mealworms is super easy, just add a Mealworm Feeder alongside your other feeders. If you don't want to do this, then you could mix them in with another bird food.
A Tasty Extra...
Try soaking the mealworms overnight in water before putting them out for your birds. This provides a tasty treat for them and can be an excellent way to help them stay hydrated on warmer days.
Please be aware that wet bird foods could become a source of bacteria and disease if the leftovers are not cleaned away. Don't worry, it's easy to prevent! We recommend only putting out what you think the birds will eat in a day and clean the area you've put them on afterwards.
What About Hedgehogs?
We recommend avoiding Dried Mealworms for Hedgehogs. They can be fed in moderation (no more than about 4 a week), but that's not easy to regulate so it's best to avoid if you can. This is because they are highly addictive for them and can cause them problems.
Instead please consider offering them special Hedgehog Food, which they're bound to love!

Please note that a small number of pumpkin seeds may be in each bag. This is used as feed for the mealworms throughout the growing process.
