The Gardman Multi Nest Box is an excellent way to support birds during the breeding season. Made from durable, high-quality FSC-certified timber, it meets BTO nest box standards to provide a safe and suitable nesting environment. Its interchangeable fronts—including an open front, 28mm hole, and 32mm hole—allow you to attract a variety of garden bird species with ease. A practical slide-out floor makes cleaning quick and convenient (only when the nest box is empty).

How to Position & Fit Your Nest Box
Position the nest box so it is sheltered from strong wind, heavy rain, and direct sunlight. The front of the box should be angled slightly downwards to help prevent rain from entering. When installing, use galvanised or stainless steel screws or nails to avoid rusting. Ensure the box is placed out of reach of cats and squirrels, and install it high up on a wall—at least 3 metres above the ground—for added protection.
When to Clean Your Nest Box
Clean your nest box once a year, ideally in autumn (September–October) after the breeding season has ended. Always make sure the box is empty before cleaning. Never clean during spring or summer when birds may be nesting.
How to Clean Your Nest Box
-
Open the nest box and remove all old nesting material.
-
Thoroughly brush out debris, including corners and drainage holes.
-
Wash with hot water only—avoid using chemicals.
-
Allow the box to dry completely before closing it.
