The Henry Bell Wild Bird Essentials Plus Suet Bites and Mealworm Feeder is a sleek, contemporary, robust feeder in grey featuring an easy opening lid for easy filling and cleaning.
The design includes a bird friendly tray to enable birds to comfortably feed and an angled base to ensure the seed flows to the feeding ports.
This feeder holds approximately 130g of dried mealworm or 430g of suet bites (suet pellets).
To access the feeder tube, unclip the lid to release, open the lid fully until it locks open (the lid will remain in an open position with the lid facing away from where it clips into place), fill the feeder tube with the appropriate feed and then release the lid from the fixed open position by pushing the lid toward the rim of the feeder tube and clip back into position
Does the job! I bought two of these feeders as I like to have spares for when I clean them out. One fell apart soon after starting to use it although there were several squabbling starlings on it at the time! The catches on the base and tube don't seem to be a good connection. The other one is holding together well at the moment. The mealworms are lasting a bit longer now instead of scattering them and both starlings and sparrows have no problems using the landing perches. It is easy to clean as well. I would have willingly paid more for a sturdier version. This one is quite inexpensive but I'm not sure how long it will last. There is some mess underneath it thanks to the starlings but ground feeders clear the bits up.
