- Had to cut a squirrel out!
Price Quality ValueHad to cut a squirrel out! Bought these feeders with high hopes as I am being pestered by 3 squirrels in my garden. I knew that juveniles could get into them but I had an adult get in and it couldn't get out. It was stuck by the pelvis and back legs. I didn't want the animal to be killed or die so had to cover the squirrel with a blanket kept a spade on top so it wouldn't move and we were forced to cut the wires to release it. It was an adult squirrel... I wouldn't want to go through that again... the little fella made a heck of a noise! But was freed unscathed... I don't think it will come again for a while but I don't lnow about the other two..... We also had one who learned how to get the top off and dip his paw in and feast on the nuts until the level dropped below its reach... so an expensive purchase that disappointed.... Snooks 21-06/20
- Good product though not quite squirrel proof
Price Quality ValueGood product though not quite squirrel proof We have young red squirrels who are just too agile and clever so get into this feeder but we love them too so no harm done! This feeder is good quality and so easy to fill. (The birds do use it too when the squirrels have finished feeding). Hazelnut 21-05/21
- It works
Price Quality ValueIt works The squirrels swarmed all over the feeder trying to work out a way of getting at the peanuts. The parakeets had a good peck at it, too. On the third day, a squirrel managed to get in - but only because I hadn't realised that you have to press the black button in order to fit the lid tight against the top of the feeder. Once you do that, Pretty Polly and the Furry Tree Rats don't stand a chance of getting within a whisker of a peanut! Lorna 21-04/30
